Are unhealthy eating habits affecting your child's oral health?

We all know healthy food means a healthy body - nutritious food keeps us overall healthy.

But do you know nutritious food is crucial not only for a healthy body but also for a healthy mouth?- Especially for children.

A poor diet can lead to serious health problems, limit your kids' ability to eat and chew food properly and lead to undernourishment. Unhealthy food can disturb children's immune systems and lead to bacterial infection in the mouth.

Unhealthy foods can lead to tooth decay and early falling out of the primary teeth. The baby teeth, or primary teeth, play an important role in kids' development. Losing them early on can result in multiple oral problems.

Let us take a look at the food choices that you should avoid giving your children:

Sugary foods: children love their chocolates, ice-creams, sweets, gummies, and candies. These foods contain refined sugar. These foods stick to the surface of the food and attract bacteria. The sugar in the food causes a bacterial infection which leads to tooth decay.

Making healthy food choices by children is possible when parents themselves correct their eating habits. Parents set an example for their children.

Stop eating processed food and all forms of refined sugar, which damages vital organs like the heart and liver of our body and makes people addicted to processed food, and increases hyperactivity in children, children's attention span focus to learn is decreased. Sugar is a poison that damages the metabolism of our body and the tooth which is the strongest part of the body develops decay this shows why sugar is a poison.

Carbonated drinks: Carbonated drinks are not harmful to teeth as they contain very high sugar. These also contain phosphoric acid that attacks the tooth enamel.

Fruit juice: You might be surprised how fruit juice can be unhealthy for teeth. Many foods that are healthy for our body may not be for our teeth. Drinking too much fruit juice can cause sugar coating on teeth, which leads to bacterial infections.
